Find work in the wireless industry
Posted by Joe P on April 2, 2008
Wandering the expo floor at CTIA 2008, I stumbled across a booth for Wireless Workforce. Well, I thought, I work in the wireless industry in some capacity. So why not check them out? Turns out, they’re a pretty quality service. It’s just what you’d expect: Companies can post searchable job listings, and potential employees can post their resume and a profile of what type of work they’re looking for. The listings are limited now, but that can be expected from a relatively new service. Clearly, the more people and companies that participate, the better the service will become. So we’re doing our part to spread the word.
What I liked most about it is how deep the information can get. You can create a number of profiles, representing different resumes you might have for different sectors of the industry. There is tons and tons of personal and professional information you can fill out — though not all of it is necessary.
It’s tough to mention something like this and not think of sites like Career Builder and Monster. However, like many publications benefit from residing in a niche, so will Wireless Workforce. They’re giving employers a place where they can find people dedicated to their industry. With Monster, you might be seeing someone applying over multiple industries, just looking to make a few bucks, But by being a niche job site, Wireless Workforce lets employers know that candidates are serious about wireless.
