It appears the Senate today will pass a bill regarding the ability of government to eavesdrop on your phone conversations and emails. It supposedly provides protections for American communications picked up while spying on the real bad guys, though little detail is given in this crappy AP article. Basically, telecoms get immunity for whatever they did to aid the government, and the government gets to keep using telecoms to wiretap without a warrant. Same old, same old.

The Boy Genius Report got their hands on an iPhone 3G. You can check out their picture gallery here. Looks killer. Oh, and if you planned to buy an iPhone at an Apple store in Canada this Friday, you’re out of luck. So rush to your nearest Rogers retailer, because that’s where the party’s at.

The EPA has recognized two Verizon Wireless stores for “superior energy efficiency and environmental protection”. Apparently, stores in Omaha, Nebraska and Toledo, Ohio have a number of gizmos in place, including temperature sensors and lighting schedules, which make them conserve energy. The press release goes into close detail of the stores’ efforts.

Arguing with friends? Have Alltel? Then you can use ChaCha, a service which lets you call or text in questions. The answers will be sent back to you via text message with a Web reference. My only question: How many times are you not hanging out with someone with a BlackBerry? Seems nearly everyone I know has one, or another device which can access Google. And that’s all you really need, right?

Cell game nut? Looks like Gameloft will launch NFL 2009 today. Looks kind of like Tecmo Super Bowl, only with a different camera view. Man, I miss Tecmo Super Bowl.
