AT&T is the largest telecommunications company in the United States, and the only carrier of the Apple iPhone. If you’re looking for a lot of choice in plans and phones, you’ve found it with this provider. Be careful not to go over your minutes – you’ll pay $0.45 each.
T-Mobile – The magenta company is more than just flashy; they also have the most plans of any company reviewed on Going Cellular. Their prices aren’t bad, either; however, don’t go over your minutes or you’ll pay a high charge.

Sprint-Nextel – When the two companies merged in 2006, they vowed to bring their customers the best in wireless service. Sprint includes a lot of features, but they’re not always standard with every plan. However, they offer unlimited nights and weekends on every plan.

Alltel – Alltel offers MyCircle, a program that allows you to call your favorite ten users as much as you want, anytime. They also have unlimited nights and weekends for any plan over $59.99. However, to add another line to a Family Plan is a whopping $20.

US Cellular – They may be a smaller network, but they have no activation fees on any of their plans and they offer the option to pay for the features that you want. However, they have no data plans as of this writing.

Verizon – known for their network and “Can you hear me now?” commercials, Verizon also has an excellent wireless service for just about anyone. However, they don’t allow you to add lines to your Family Plans; you’ll have to get a more expensive plan to get more lines.
