T-Mobile adds to Hotspot @Home lineup
Posted by Joe P on December 10, 2007

Good news for people who want T-Mobile’s Hotspot @Home, but don’t want the super-cheap models they were offering with it before, nor want the super-expensive BlackBerry Curve. The Samsung t739 was announced late last week. It’s a pretty decent slider phone, certainly better than the Nokia 6086. And it even has a coooo-oool nickname: The Katalyst. See what they did there? They misspelled “catalyst” to give it that “edgy” feel.
Even though its not the worst phone in the Hotspot lineup, it’s not exactly a world beater, either. It’s got the basics: 1.3 MP camera, Bluetooth, microSD. But it’s lacking in further features. As Engadget puts it: “a 3.2 megapixel camera adn 3G would get us to shut up, just as a fr’instance.” We couldn’t say it any better ourselves.
The good news is that it’s relatively cheap: $79.99 with a two-year commitment. Not bad for a Hotspot phone that doesn’t completely suck.
