Nokia cutting handset prices

Posted by Joe P on August 1, 2008

Yay for cheap phone! Nokia, the world’s No. 1 handset maker, will slash handset prices “across the board,” according to Engadget Mobile. Cutting prices is always good for the consumer (duh!). Not only does it provide Nokia phones at a more attractive price, but it puts the screws to the competition to lower theirs. And that’s the beauty of a market economy, right? The cuts look to be up to 10 percent, which, considering the retail prices of phones, can end up saving you a decent chunk of change. The question is, though, whether they’ll release their new line of phones to reflect this pricing scheme. We’ll see.
