All the hoopla in the mobile world this morning is about the new BlackBerry, which was announced at midnight. It’s called the BlackBerry Bold. Look for it on AT&T sometime this summer. Until then, your links:
- Best Buy has sunk $2.1 billion into Carphone Warehouse. The two companies will now combine in the U.S. and Europe, and new European stores will be branded Best Buy.
- While the other carriers are gaining, Sprint lost a million customers in the first quarter. Sales were down 9 percent. Rumors continue that they’re looking to dump Nextel.
- Google and Sprint are teaming up to add Google applications to Sprint phones. Not a bad deal. Google wants to get into the mobile realm, and Sprint wants to stay alive. Perhaps they can achieve their goals concurrently.
