Mobile Notes: AT&T, Satellite phone, iPhone, GTA IV, NFL
Posted by Joe P on April 22, 2008
In finding mobile links today, I came across this YouTube video. Funny stuff, I can tell you that. But for now, onto the day in mobile notes:
- Why would you sign a contract if you get nothing in return? This story is explored on CrunchGear. Apparently, if you bring your own phone in and try to activate it with a new AT&T account, you might have to sign a contract.
- Boy Genius Report points us to a sleek satellite phone. It combines GSM and satellite to give you “always-on” access. And with WiFi, GPS, and a 3-megapixel camera, it just might be a hit.
- It looks like Italy will be the first to see the 3G iPhone. And it won’t require a contract, or be locked to a carrier. And it looks like Apple is patenting an IM client for the iPhone.
- Big football fan? I knew you were. So you might be excited to hear that Sprint is offering live coverage of the 2008 NFL Draft on April 26th and 27th. The service includes text alerts to your team’s picks, which is just a superb feature.
- A cellphone defibrillator? Hey, if it can save lives, it’s tough to argue against it, even though it can clearly be abused.
