Over the past year or so, Helio has made its mark on the cellular world by offering dazzling handsets — most notably the Ocean, though they have a number of other impressive devices, like the Fin. They’re basically trying to succeed where Amp’d Mobile failed. In doing so, they’re introducing yet another device, the Mystro.

It’s a slick-looking slider, not too big, and ultra slim — just 0.5 inches deep. The 2.22 inch QVGA screen makes for easy Internet browsing and image viewing.

Like many phones hitting the market recently, the Mystro features a multimedia player, compatible with MP3, AAC, WMA, and MIDI formats, as well as MPEG 4 and H.264 video. It’s got a 2 megapixel camera on board, too, with video recording capabilities. And with Helio, you can upload your videos to YouTube and your photos to Flickr with ease.

There’s only 100 MB of on-board memory, but as is the case with most multimedia phones, there’s room for a 4 GB microSD card, allowing you to keep plenty of movies and music right on your phone.

And yes, it has GPS and Bluetooth, two increasingly common features on new phones. However, our favorite feature is the full HTML browsing capabilities. As we’ve noted before, people tend to want their mobile Internet to resemble their desktop Internet. Helio has delivered on that desire thus far.

It’ll set you back $149, which isn’t bad for a device like this. Then again, with the Ocean costing just $50 more, we’d have a tough time justifying this purchase.
