Verizon reduces prices on some smartphones

Gearing the conversation towards budget cell phones and service means we don’t get to spend much time, if any, on smartphones. Today, though, we’re taking advantage of Verizon cutting prices on some smartphone models. Of course, not all of them fall into the budget category. But they certainly are deals, as the most expensive is the BlackBerry 8830, running for $149, down from $199. All of these deals, of course, require the signing of a two-year contract. Tit for tat, I suppose.
The deals, going from highest priced to lowest:
BlackBerry 8830 World Edition: $149 from $199
BlackBerry Curve: $99 from $149
BlackBerry Pearl: $79 from $99
LG enV: $79 from $99
LG Voyager: $99 from $149
Samsung Glyde: $79 from $149
I can personally recommend the Curve, Pearl, 8830, and Glyde, as I’ve used them extensively. The enV seems odd…perhaps it’s the enV2, since you can get an enV original cheaper than that already with a contract (which is why you see everyone walking around with one now). I have a friend who loves the Voyager, which just got visual voicemail.
You might have Apple to thank for these cuts. At least one analyst believes this is the other carriers trying to keep up with AT&T.
