We make no mistake of our dislike of Sprint’s cellular service. While some people enjoy it, between the service level and the customer service deficiencies, we just can’t endorse them. If you’re dissatisfied with Sprint, you can get out of your contract without paying an early termination fee, thanks to an increase in their administrative fee. That represents a material change to the terms of service, which means if you’re persistent enough you can walk away from the remainder of your contract.

Sprint announces Voluntary Separation Program, but not for customers

We know the economy is not performing well. Layoffs are prevalent. This is the situation at Sprint. So instead of starting off with a number of layoffs, the company has decided to start a Voluntary Separation Program, which will allow employee and company to part amicably. This is available for those in Sales and Distribution, which is certainly good news for Sprint. The last thing they want are their customer service reps taking off, destroying any progress they’ve made. Now, if they only had such a program for their customers.

Sprint to continue losing customers to rivals?

While there are some positive tidbits coming from the Sprint camp, the nation’s No. 3 wireless carrier might still be facing troubles. They’re just days away from announcing their third quarter results, and we’re warned that they could report further losses. Ouch. It seems the Sprint brand just isn’t doing much for people. We’ll get the official results soon enough, but if Sprint has an even bigger hold to dig out of, things could get ugly.
